On 8 December 2016 the closing conference of the EU Program "Support to Regional Development Policy in Ukraine" took place. 

Participants of the conference were Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Building and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine on European Integration Mr. Roman Chuprynenko, President of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine Mr. Vasyl Kuybida, Team Leader of the EU Program "Support to Regional Development Policy in Ukraine" Mr. Colin Maddock, Regional Director for Europe, GIZ International Services Ms. Eleni Andrikopoulou, Director of the U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme Mr. Andreas von Schumann, representatives of central and regional executive authorities, local government authorities and civil society organizations, academic staff of the National Academy, Ukrainian and international experts, specialists and experts on regional and local development, representatives of foreign embassies, international financial institutions and donor organizations.

The aim of the conference was to discuss the current state of regional public policy in the context of decentralization reform, the main lessons of last few years and the challenges to the Government according to implementing and further reforming of regional public policy, forming of the modern regional public policy of Ukraine based on the results of the EU Programme "Support to Regional Development Policy in Ukraine ".  

President of the National Academy Vasyl Kuybida emphasized an issue according to the decentralization of power in the context of sustainable regional development in his opening speech to the participants of the conference.

According to President of the National Academy the new approaches to the regional governance will provide to change the Centers for Decision Making to maximize bringing them on the regional level. Also in his speech Vasyl Kuybida noted the role of local communities as subjects of the socio-economic and cultural development of the regions, enhancing their competitiveness.  

During the conference there was the discussion according to the cohesion policy of the EU in the economic context, the current state and the main challenges of regional development policy in Ukraine, the contribution of the EU Programme "Support to Regional Development Policy in Ukraine" in forming of regional development management in Ukraine and prospects for the future.

On 25 May 2018 at the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation Public Administration in Ukraine: State, Challenges and Development Prospects was held dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the public service in Ukraine. On 25-29 June 2018 the representatives of the National Academy as well as its Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv regional institutes visited Mannheim (Germany) within the framework of the Ukrainian-German international project Professionalization and Stabilization of Ukrainian Municipal Management-II. From February 27 to March 19, 2018, the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine held a distance learning course "Policy and Governance in the Economic Sector and Financing of the Health Care System in Ukraine", which was developed from the curriculum of the Harvard T.H. Chen School of Public Health. This course was implemented to realize the grant project "Adaptation and Institutionalization of a Training Program on Economics and Financing in the Healthcare" approved by the Cooperation Agreement between the National Academy and Deloitte Consulting which is a contractor of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), within the framework of the project "Reform of HIV services in action". On April 24, 2018, President of the National Academy Vasyl Kuybida and Vice-President of the National Academy Maryna Bilynska took part in the International conference "VETS: World Practices for the Integration of Veterans to a Peaceful Life". The meeting was also attended by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, Chairman of the Veterans Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Tretiakov, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalia Fedorovych, Deputy Director of the Initiative for Supporting the Transatlantic Leadership of The German Marshall Fund Philip Medich, Head of the NGO NextOp John Boerstler, Head of the NGO All-Ukrainian Legal Advocacy Organization Yurydychna Sotnia (transl.Legal Hundred) Lesia Vasylenko, international experts from the United States of America, Great Britain, Canada and others. On February 19-24, 2018, the scientific and pedagogical staff of the Chair of Language Education and Communication in the public administration of the National Academy participated in the Winter School of Pedagogical Excellence within the framework of the British Council Ukraine project "English for Universities".
