On September 20-22, 2017, the President of the National Academy Vasyl Kuibida took part in the Baltic Business Forum (BBF) - Energy for Development, which took place in Swinoujscie (Republic of Poland). The Forum was co-organized by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

During the event, experts, scientists and practitioners from Ukraine, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Poland, Lithuania, the Federal Republic of Germany and Scandinavia discussed political and economic relations in the region of the Tri-Morya, from the Adriatic to the Baltic and Black Seas.

During the sessions, participants discussed issues of Sweden, Ukraine and Poland before the V Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels, focusing on energy cooperation and business policy. They broke issues of EU and regional projects as ways to unite Europe and increase the competitiveness of the economies of the region. In addition, the participants discussed political and military cooperation between the countries of the region of the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas; presented the experience of Sweden, Ukraine and Poland on energy efficiency as the beginning of the road to energy transformation.

Vision and Needs emphasized that the transformational processes of Ukrainian society accelerated the process of reforming of local self-government and territorial organization of power in Ukraine. According to Mr. Kuibida, the decentralization of power in Ukraine remains the key to the development of the state and one of the major reforms that are most actively implemented in Ukraine.

That is why the National Academy during this year established cooperation with local government bodies, non-governmental organizations, etc., in order to create an effective system of local self-government, in which local self-government bodies will be able to fulfill their responsibilities and be responsible for their implementation. In order to improve cooperation between cities, communities, oblasts and regions of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, the National Academy took under the patronage the Polish-Ukrainian Academy of Cities, formed by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. Cooperation between the National Academy and the Polish-Ukrainian Academy of Cities will enhance the effectiveness of training civil servants and local government officials, the implementation of best state-of-the-art management practices to create an effective system of local self-government, etc.

It should be noted that during the session Polish-Ukrainian Academy of cities. Vision and Needs, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, the Lviv Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine and the Malopolska School of Public Administration of the Economic University in Krakow.

On 25 May 2018 at the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference with international participation Public Administration in Ukraine: State, Challenges and Development Prospects was held dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the public service in Ukraine. On 25-29 June 2018 the representatives of the National Academy as well as its Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv regional institutes visited Mannheim (Germany) within the framework of the Ukrainian-German international project Professionalization and Stabilization of Ukrainian Municipal Management-II. From February 27 to March 19, 2018, the National Academy for Public Administration under the President of Ukraine held a distance learning course "Policy and Governance in the Economic Sector and Financing of the Health Care System in Ukraine", which was developed from the curriculum of the Harvard T.H. Chen School of Public Health. On April 24, 2018, President of the National Academy Vasyl Kuybida and Vice-President of the National Academy Maryna Bilynska took part in the International conference "VETS: World Practices for the Integration of Veterans to a Peaceful Life".
