National Academy for Public Administration
under the President of Ukraine


From 2 to 5 September 2019, the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine hosted a seminar on ADL Course Development, jointly organized by the National Academy and the NATO Defence Education Enhancement Programme (NATO DEEP).

The trainers who, during the intensive three-day program, were able to share current knowledge and best practices in NATO distance learning, were Associate Professor of Kuyavian University, Distance Learning Specialist Piotr Gawliczek (the Republic of Poland), as well as experts on Distance Learning Vitalijs Slendins (the Republic of Latvia) and Povilas Mikalainis (the Republic of Lithuania).

The workshop was attended by teachers and graduate students of the National Academy who are interested in developing of advanced distance learning programs in accordance with the best modern standards of the European Union and NATO.

The workshop participants were able to get acquainted with the features of the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) platform in the academic environment and explore the capabilities of the NATO DEEP ADL portal as a tool for developing distance learning and coaching modules.

During the practical part of the seminar, its participants tried their own efforts at creating distance learning materials, developing functional capabilities, best practices and courses for the National Academy. The topic of the seminar was also relevant to further improve the work of the National Academy's Distance Learning Center, which provides information-analytical, organizational and technical support for the development and implementation of distance learning technologies in the educational process and scientific activities of the National Academy.

After the workshop, participants who went through all the stages of theoretical and practical training program received certificates of successful completion of the workshop on the development of ADL courses.
